PROFOTECH CJSC displays the digital substation bay module at the "Electrical Networks-2011" exhibition

The "Electrical Networks of Russia – 2011" exhibition ended in the All Russian Exhibition Center. In it’s booth, PROFOTECH CJSC’s displayed the fibre optic current and voltage transducers with digital interface that it created in accordance with the IEC 61850-9-2 protocol. This tranducers have captured the attention of many experts of the industry. PROFOTECH CJSC was awarded the honorary diploma of the exhibition in the "Perspective Innovation" category for their development and manufacturing.

The exposition was a union of PROFOTECH CJSC, EnergopromAvtomatizatsiya LLC, Research-and-Production Enterprise EKRA LLC and High Voltage Direct Current Power Transmission Research Institute OJSC. They demonstrated the operating model of the "digital substation" bay, including the following equipment:

the PROFOTECH CJSC fibre optic current and voltage transducers with digital interface;
the EnergopromAvtomatizatsiya bay controller, supporting the IEC 61850-9-2 and IEC 61850-8-1 protocols, as well as SCADA-system;
the EKRA relay, supporting the IEC61850-9-2 protocol;
the Landis + Gyr electric power fiscal accounting device;
and the Omicron CPC100 multi-functional device for primary equipment testing.

The bus current of the PROFOTECH fibre optic current transducer was generated with the use of the Omicron CPC100 device. In accordance with the IEC 61850-9-2 protocol, the data from the fibre optic current transducer processing unit was transferred to the EKRA relay, the EnergopromAvtomatizatsiya bay controller, as well as the CPC100 device’s digital interface. The booth visitors could see the work of the whole chain with their own eyes and even witness protection procedures in effect.
Right in the exhibition booth, the PROFOTECH CJSC and Prosoft-Systems LLC experts successfully carried out tests on the fibre optic instrument transducer and the MKPA-2 microprocessor emergency automation complex functional compatibility. They used the IEC 61850-9-2 LE interface. The experts confirmed that the complex equipment operated properly.

The displayed equipment attracted the attention of the representatives from the power supply complexes companies as well as the electrical machinery manufacturers. The PROFOTECH CJSC booth was visited by delegations from a number of branches of MRSK Holding OJSC, representatives of RZD OJSC, CIUS-EES OJSC and other companies. Negotiations were held with the leading electrical equipment manufacturers regarding the development of cooperative solutions based on PROFOTECH products.

At the exhibition’s formal closing ceremony MRSK Holding’s Deputy Managing Director and Technical Director Boris Mekhanoshin, –, awarded PROFOTECH’s Managing Director, Sergei Sidorov, the of "Perspective innovation" certificate for developing and manufacturing fibre optic current and voltage transducers.
