PROFOTECH in the "Electrical Networks of Russia"

6 December 2013

“Profotech” Company took part in the " Electrical Networks of Russia " 16th specialized exhibition.

This year, the " Electrical Networks of Russia " exhibition attracted a record number of visitors from among the largest manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and instruments for integrated power grid, electricity supply work-, construction-, installation- and design organizations, including from the countries Europe, Asia, America, etc.

Within the frame of the exhibition, at the conference, a report of “The Use of Fibre Optic Current Transformers for Measurement and Calibration of Current Transformers Integrated in Busbars” was made by Head of "Profotech" Test Center, Maxim Anatolievich Yanin.

The report was devoted to the up-to-date electronic current transformers where flexible fibre optic is used as a sensing element and which make possible a high accuracy of current measurement in the generator busbars with no change in the busbar design. The use of this technology also enables you to assess the accuracy of the integrated current transformers on the existing equipment, moreover, not only of the revenue metering cores, but also of the relay cores within the range of maximum multiplicity values.

This solution was developed by the company’s experts in the form of a mobile calibration complex and entered into the state register as a secondary reference standard.
Also, on its stand, "Profotech" presented the operating specimens of optical current and voltage transformers completed with digital outputs in IEC 61850-9-2LE.

Fiber-optic current and voltage transducers manufactured by "Profotech" make possible a high-precision on-line measurement of the current and voltage values, power quality parameters and mode of the operating main, all information is transmitted via a digital interface and can be used by any secondary equipment - counters of revenue metering, telemetry devices, power quality monitoring  instruments and  digital relay protection systems.

The use of "Profotech" transducers will make it possible primarily to provide a new level of measurements, and, in addition, to gain a range of additional advantages: reducing of operating costs, improving safety of the facilities, simplifying and reducing the cost of installation, increasing the observability of any facility.
