The solution proposed by Profotech and LISIS is designed for substation automation by “digitalized substation” technology.
The foundation of the solution proposed by both companies is the change of architecture of substation protection and control systems based on digital data processing. Protocol 61850 described in the “Digitalized Substation” technology, allows to get a unified data flow that provides information about condition of the operated facility (i.e. substation), thus it becomes possible to shift to a software platform that is installed on the universal hardware devices and has a free functions allocation.
The solution consists of digital fiber-optical current and voltage instrument transformers and a software package that performs all the functions of substation protection and control, and operates on the universal server platforms.
Digital fiber-optical instrument transformers designed by Profotech are an alternative to traditional instrument transformers, their application is a high-accuracy measurement of instantaneous current, voltage and their phase characteristics, as well as outputting of measured values via digital interface to secondary equipment, i.e. revenue meters, telemetric devices, power quality control devices and relay protection and automation equipment. Digital fiber-optical instrument transformers provide fully digital measurement with minimum possible error at present time. Digital fiber-optical instrument transformers are the foundation of a digitalized substation.
iSAS hardware and software package designed by LISIS Company supports the whole lifecycle of establishing a center of substation control system , i.e.: design, tests, debugging, maintenance and operation.
iSAS is a hardware and software package for electric power substation automation based on the unified technological platform with unification of all protection, management, measurement and control functions within a substation by means of program modules which can be easily relocated to any hardware platforms operating by OS Linux.
